Two Day Fly Fishing School

             Two Day Fly Fishing School

We just completed our first Two Day school at Briarwood sporting club in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Our four students had a busy weekend as they worked to improve their casting, learn their knots, and perfect their fishing abilities. Fishing was a little slow due to the temperature hovering in the 90's the whole time we were there.

Two of my students were a father and son who had a great time learning the basics of fly fishing. They also enjoyed taking the lodges' tin boats out on the bass pond in front of the lodge.

We began the school by working on our casting on one of the properties many grassy areas.  In-between casting, we discussed equipement, flies and many other aspects of fly fishing. We then headed to the bass ponds to put some of what we learned to work.  Fishing was tough, but I give the guys credit for sticking to it.  After an early dinner of pork chops and corn on the cob, we headed to the trout ponds and fished until dark.
I got the guys up early Sunday morning and we took off to the large bass ponds for a few hours before a quick lunch and more action at the trout streams. Overall, we had a great time and learned a lot.

D&H will be hosting another two day school at Briarwood during the weekend of June 29-30.  Call the shop to find out more.
