Patagonia Summer Shirts

I hate being hot. No two ways about it. Luckily, for me, Patagonia has a few summer shirts that make the summer much more comfortable. These are shirts that I can wear all day in the store, grab a beer in, and still feel great when it comes time to sneak away and fish for bit. Here are a few of my favorites, and a new one.

Additional Montana Dates, September 7-13, 2013

Mark filled up our original Montana trip dates and felt like we might be leaving some people out, so we have added an additional set of dates.  Luke will host a group the week of September 7-13, 2013 at Upper Canyon Ranch.
We look forward to a great week of classic Montana fishing.  For more information or to check out more pictures, look here: Montana Trip details and Pictures.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mark or Luke at the shop 513-871-3474.

New Rio Product for the Big Fish Guys!

We just brought in some of the Rio Saltwater versi-leaders. This is a new product for 2013.  These are sink leaders that have a 24 lb. monofilament core. In the past I felt "iffy" about using the trout versi-leaders for big fish, since they only had a 12 lb. core. I guess I wasn't the only one.

Little Miami Hybrid Fishing

Fortunately, I have had some time to fish the last couple days. All of us at the shop have been hitting it pretty hard. I have fished every day so far since the 3rd in a few different spots and the little Miami has been on fire! All together I’ve caught two hybrids; the bigger of the two was around 8 lbs, some decent white bass, half a dozen respectable Smallmouth and one Largemouth in the mix! The Gizzard Shad are definitely around and in huge numbers, you can sense the fish can feel it and are excited about it.

Barbour Peel Jacket

As the weather is starting to get warmer, I have been reaching in the coat closet and looking for lighter options.  One of my favorite is a Barbour waterproof/breathable Bedale jacket from many years back.  I am always amazed how light and breathable this jacket is.  I wear a number of Patagonia shells and fishing jackets and they are great, but when I want to hit the streets and be a bit dressier, this is my jacket of choice.

This year Barbour has come out with a new version of my old jacket.  The technology has been updated and the jacket is being offered in three colors.  Stop in the shop on Hyde Park Square and try one on.  If you are not in Cincinnati, you can go on the Delamere & Hopkins' e-commerce site and we will ship the jacket to you:
