Early season fishing: Little Miami

Some would call it wishing, or just stupid, but we had to get out. With the recent subtle warm up and time spent fishing way long overdue, I called a co-worker late last night.  I made the decision half way through tying a 7 inch bait fish pattern in gray and white and couldn't stand all the tying and no casting. Knowing that its way early in the year to be extremely hopeful, it is always in the back of my mind that it only takes one fish.

Other than breaking some ice to get in everything was looking good...

We got out pretty early, just before sunrise and the water looked perfect. The good water levels really got me excited immediately, because we haven't seen it this low in a few months.
No fish this time, but time very well spent. Come in and see us and get ready for the spring, the hybrids are coming!
