The weather in Cincinnati has been up and down over the last few weeks. We have not hit parka weather yet, but we definitely have had plenty of temperatures to warrant a vest. We thought we would take a look at the selection of vests we have in the shop; some new styles and some old favorites. Barbour Colwarmth
This is a new style from the Barbour Field Collection for the 2015 cold weather season. We took to this vest because it is not too puffy and bulky and will look as good in the field as it will going into town to get supplies. The vest is filled with a Fibre Down that keeps you warm even it gets wet and dries quickly. Microfiber suede is used on the inner collar and on the quilted patches. Woolrich Bear Claw Vest
New from Woolrich for this season, the
Bear Claw Vest is constructed from a classic herringbone wool tweed. This vest has classic, clean lines. The nylon quilted interior makes sliding over a sweater or a fleece easy. The two front slash pockets have a light fleece lining.
Filson Down Cruiser Vest
The Filson Down Cruiser Vest is one of the best items Filson has come up with in a long time. This became an instant shop favorite! The goose down vest has a water repellent exterior constructed of oil finish Cover Cloth and oil finish Shelter Cloth.
Patagonia Retro-X Vest
This is a old-school classic Patagonia vest that has been around for ages. Fleece that looks like sheeps wool and a big pocket on the chest. I have seen some pretty bad knock-offs walking the streets; this is the original. We have this in a variety of colors for both Men and Women.
Delamere & Hopkins Fleece Vest
This is a classic fleece vest with a great looking trout embroidered logo. Comes in navy and heather grey.
Barbour Lowerdale Vest
The
Barbour Lowerdale Vest has a great classic look, but it is cut a bit tight. Comes in black, navy and green. Almost everyone goes up one size.
Filson Mackinaw Wool Vest
This wool vest is a classic outdoor staple for many around town and in the field. Works well over a shirt or under a jacket for added warmth.
Barbour Westmoorland Wax Vest
This wax cotton vest has light insulation, a corduroy collar and comes in black and olive. There are handwarmer pockets and two lower bellows pockets.
Patagonia Nano Puff Vest
This vest is super lightweight, yet is the warmest item for the weight class. There is an interior chest pocket that allows to vest to be packed into itself. This makes for a small item that can be stored in a hiking bag or a briefcase. I find that this is the best insulation under a jacket that is of a slimmer cut. We also carry the Nano Puff Jacket and the Nano Puff 1/4 Zip for both men and women. This is a huge product for D&H and you will see the D&H guys wearing the Nano series all Autumn and Winter both on the stream and in the shop.
Filson Zipped Wool Vest
This Filson wool vest was designed as a liner that zips into some of the Filson jackets, but we have found that we sell the majority of the vest to customers that want the warmth and quality of a Filson wool product in a more modern look. Both the forest green and the charcoal sell equally as well.
Barbour Shooting Tweed Waistcoat
This is a true shooting tweed that would be at home on any shooting estate in England or Scotland. The details and finishes of this garment are top-notch.
Patagonia Better Sweater Vest
This fleece vest has a woven exterior that looks like a classic sweater. To say that this is a top-seller in our Cincinnati shop would not be an overstatement. We also carry the Better Sweater Jacket and the Better Sweater 1/4 Zip for both men and women.
Barbour Brearton Vest
This quilted field vest would be perfect for running your bird dogs, shooting a round of clays or taking a stroll in the countryside with His Royal Highness.
