Delamere & Hopkins has been stocking the Double Mackinaw Cruiser from Filson for twenty seasons. Many customers appreciate the hardy wool and the quality construction, but comment that they do not think it gets cold enough in Cincinnati to get much wear time. I wear mine a bunch each season and the winter of 2013 gave me more opportunities than I knew what to do with.
I can tell you with all honesty I have never been cold while wearing this garment. This is a "lifer" product that I guarantee will get many years of use after I am long gone. I wear the heck out of it and could hang it up in the shop and put a price tag on it and I don't think anyone would know it has been used for decades.
The back map pocket is a great place to store stuff. I always have a hat, gloves and usually some rope of sorts in the back. The Cruiser comes in three colors. Stop in the Hyde Park Square shop and try one on or go to our shop's web site to see the colors and details: BestGear.com

Quail hunting on feb 24th
Went out to try our luck on some quail with my Dad today and we had a good time. We didn't have too long to hunt so we know we left some birds out there. We hunted from about 1-4 today. Duke found some birds right away and over all did a good job.

Briarwood Sporting Club
Briarwood is one of the premiere private sporting
clubs in our region. Consisting of 500 acres, 16 warm water ponds and lakes,
and 4 artificial trout streams, there is plenty to explore and tons of fish to
catch. Some of the larger lakes also feature trolling motor equipped boats for
guest use.
This
is a non-instructional trip. D&H hosts will fish right along with you and
if you ask or we notice something we will be more than happy to help you with
casting, knots, handling fish, or any other questions you might have. If you
would like to see some photo’s from previous trips to Briarwood, you can look

Upland hunting
I was invited for the annual traditional upland hunt in Shelby County, Kentucky this past Saturday. The day was cold and snowy, but the sun peaked out from the clouds every now and then.

Brookville Tailwater Fishing Report
The past month showed us some very interesting weather to say the least. The temperatures have been at ridiculous lows. Since the first of January I have gotten over to Brookville maybe five times. The flows have been good; no super high or super low water. Water temperatures have been on the lower side, but manageable. The air temperatures have been crazy low though. There have been a couple times where I was fishing in negative degree wind chills. Nothing like clean out the icy guides after every ten casts! Not the best fishing experiences, but I had to get out. I would have to sit in the car every hour so I could just feel my hands enough to set the hook. Call me crazy but there's nothing better than fishing, no matter the conditions.

Safari Club International Convention 2014
I just got home late last night from the Safari Club International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Can't say I was particularly crazy about Vegas but the show was awesome.
This is one of the largest hunting and sporting shows in the country, if not the world. Attendance was somewhere around 25,000 people. The show was held in the Mandalay Convention center and took up both convention floors. As a whole, the show is pretty overwhelming.
