Little Miami Guide Trip

I had a trip on the books for the Little Miami for this past weekend and water was obviously VERY high due to the annoying amount of rain we have been getting.  Thankfully the East fork had a sudden drop in discharge and we were able to head over there for the morning.  It was 100% worth the trip. In the first hour or so we had caught 3 hybrid bass and then we went on to catch smallmouth up stream.

Jeff was bending over my Sage one 6 wt. on these hybrids in fast water.

               Rainy Day Smallmouth Fishing
                        East Fork Tailwater

One of my clients stopped by the shop today to ask some fishing questions. After we talked for a bit, we decided to run out and fish a local creek. I got one of the guys to cover for me and we were off. East Fork tailwater was looking good so that's where we headed. The temp's were cool of course and the water had a bit of color but otherwise the water looked very good.It turned out to be a very enjoyable day.

The things you find on the creek make the day!

East Fork Tailwater Smallmouth

The Smallmouth fishing is warming up on our local creeks. I spent Sunday fishing with friends on the East Fork Tailwater. We worked pretty hard for the fish we caught. The best of the day was this 16 inch fish that took one of my original flies.
