6 Nations Rugby Tournament 2016 - week one

The first weekend of 6 Nations action is over and here are the results:

France 23     Italy 21
France won, but not by much.  It was an exciting match and Italy played very well, but in the end France was the better team.  Hopefully France will bring their A game to compete with Ireland next Saturday.
Hugo Bonneval
England 15     Scotland 9
Not a ton of excitement.  The match and the players were quite slow.  I didn't feel like there was a lot of support.
George Kruis
Ireland 16     Wales 16
the pace of this match was night and day compared to the England-Scotland match.  The speed of play and the support shown by the Forwards was what really set this contest apart for me.  The aggressiveness of the Forwards once a tackle had been made was exciting to watch.

I had to stop watching and go to work, but not before Ireland pushed ahead for their first try instead of settling for an easy three.

rugby: Eagles vs. All Blacks in Chicago today

40 minutes
wow; we all know the Kiwi's can play great rugby, but.....
it is half time and here is the score
All Blacks 43
Eagles 6

48:25
just saw the All Blacks score another Try
53-6
I think the most common thing I am seeing is the speed of game that All Blacks play; they keep the ball moving always

50:12
the All Blacks missed another extra point and it reminds me how good Jonny Wilkinson was; amazing scorer

72:50
All Blacks 67 - Eagles 6
why are the All Blacks so good?   the All Blacks always have a man running behind the ball carrier.
they can just pass the ball to an area and know that a player will appear to get the pass.

79:08
what passing!
great execution!
All Blacks 72 - Eagles 6

Final
All Blacks 74 - Eagles 6

Six Nations Rugby

Last weekend England handed Scotland a decisive loss at Twickenham with a 38-18 score.  Billy Twelvetrees scored a debut try and saw plenty of time with the ball.

France vs Wales  February 9, 2013
I am watching France vs Wales right now and Wales has so far had most of the play.  The big story of the day so far is the pitch.  It is in bad condition and pieces are rolling up with every scrum.  It has to be a factor as there is no sure footing to be had.  The folks at Stade de France have some serious work to do on this pitch.
France is powering their way forward right now and providing much excitement, but they lost the ball and Wales just cleared the ball with a good kick.
France is threatening again and Wales is holding tight.  Wales defenders a really sticking to it and making France work hard.
The possession time is on Wales side with 60% and they have been on the French side of the pitch for the majority of the time (65%), but the score is still 3-3.
We are in the second half and France was within yards of a try and instead of pushing on a kick is tried and missed.  Wrong decision!
There has not been too much excitement and the score is now 6-6.
Wales is pushing, pushing and they go to the left and with a little kick and a quick pick up by George North a try is scored for WALES!! Wales 13 France 6
The match is over and Wales has won 16-6.
Mathieu Bastareaud and Leigh Halfpenny

Scotland beat Italy early today 34-10.
I saw some clips and Stuart Hogg had an exciting breakaway try.

So now everyone has 2 points except for France.
