Briarwood Trout

Well, another great weekend at Briarwood has come and gone. This year I had seven guests as well as Louis to help me out. We had a great time. I had a few regulars come up but the group was primarily new friends. Several of these people were new to fly fishing as well, so it was fun to give them this opportunity.

Briarwood Weekend, June 7-8

I still have a few spots open for the Briarwood fishing weekend. This is a non-instructional weekend. Just a chance for people to get out and refresh their skills or kick back and enjoy everything Briarwood has to offer.
Louis and I will be hosting this weekend of good food and fishing. Both of us will be happy to help with any instruction you might desire. The cost of the weekend is $275 per person.

Briarwood Fly Fishing Weekend

Briarwood Fishing Weekend
June 7&8, 2014
Briarwood Sporting Club
Briarwood is one of the premiere private sporting clubs in our region. Consisting of 500 acres, 16 warm water ponds and lakes, and 4 artificial trout streams, there is plenty to explore and tons of fish to catch. Some of the larger lakes also feature trolling motor equipped boats for guest use.
This is a non-instructional trip. D&H hosts will fish right along with you and if you ask or we notice something we will be more than happy to help you with casting, knots, handling fish, or any other questions you might have. If you would like to see some photo’s from previous trips to Briarwood, you can look here Briarwood Photo Gallery.

Briarwood-Finally a Big Fish!!

I had a great morning with Mark, Kim, Conner, and Dylan Howell at Briarwood. They were enjoying their "fall break" with a bit of trout fishing and pheasant hunting at another property. It was a cold morning for sure. I left Cincinnati at about 5:00 a.m. and my truck thermometer read 38 degrees. By the time I arrived at the club at 7:00 the truck read 29 degrees. But we caught fish.

Bass, Trout, and Frogs...Fifth Third Bank Event at Briarwood.

We try not to take ourselves too seriously.

I just got back from Briarwood Sporting Club for the 2nd time this week.  I know, hard life.  Actually, this outing was to assist our head instructor, Brian Barnard, with a Fifth Third Bank corporate event.  Fifth Third invited representatives and some of their best clients to spend the day exploring Briarwood and learning to fly fish.  We had a great few days and caught a ton of fish.  Michael was the Fifth Third employee responsible for organizing the event.  It was a great event.  Keep reading for pictures and more about the event.

A great weekend at Briarwood

I just got back from a weekend at Briarwood Sporting Club. I had five guests with me, all of whom I have either guided or instructed in the past. It was a great group. We had many laughs, caught a ton of fish, and in general just had a great time.

Two Day Fly Fishing School

             Two Day Fly Fishing School

We just completed our first Two Day school at Briarwood sporting club in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Our four students had a busy weekend as they worked to improve their casting, learn their knots, and perfect their fishing abilities. Fishing was a little slow due to the temperature hovering in the 90's the whole time we were there.
