Brookville Tailwaters Fishing Report 10/7/13

My Dad and I were planning on heading up to Cleveland today and tomorrow to chase the fall run of steelhead; but unfortunately heavy rains made most of the rivers unfishable. We decided to stay home and head up in a few weeks during the heat of the fall run. We then went over to the Brookville Tailwaters in Indiana to do some trout fishing. This ended up being a smart decision.

Clearance Fly fishing Gear

We have a handful of items that are looking for a good home and someone who will put them to use. This is all top notch gear that is just slightly different from the newest model. Hope you find a something you can't live without!  Everything here is 30% off normal retail.
Please note that since these are sale items, there will be no returns or exchanges.

Rods

Either of these two rods would make an excellent Brookville Tail water rod. These rods are specially designed for the serious nymph fisherman. I fished a similar rod several days in Montana and just fell in love with it. They make long hours of nymphing much more enjoyable.

Montauk 2013

This is a replica of Great White shark Frank Mundus caught in the 1980's. It weighed over 3,000 pounds. Mundus was supposedly the inspiration for Captain Quint in "Jaws"

I just got back from Montauk, New York. Fishing was a bit slow but we still had a great time. Montauk is full of surprises and cool little tidbits like the picture above.

Montana September 2013 (week two)

I just got back from Montana a couple of days ago and have been going thru my photos and thought I would share some of them.  There were ten D&H anglers for the second week this year.  The experience levels of our group were new-to-the-sport to seasoned angler.

Luke's Montana Trip

I got home late last night from an amazing trip to Montana. We stayed at Donna and Jake Mcdonalds' Upper Canyon Outfitters. To say I was impressed with their operation is a huge understatement. I had four guests with me. Michael, Ted, and Barb had all either fished at this ranch or spent time in the west. For Larry, this was his first time ever even being out west. It was a lot of fun to see his excitement throughout the trip. With views like the one above, who wouldn't be excited? Look below for more trip pics.
