Fish Bahamas 2015!!
This year D&H will be returning to the Andros Island Bonefish Club March 15-21, 2015! This is a great time of the year to get out of Cincinnati and it is an amazing time to fish for the big bones! With all the fishing that I have done this is by far my favorite type of fishing and species to fish for. I cannot wait to get down there! Andros is known as the bonefish capital of the world and you can get shots at double digit fish everyday!!
Florida Redfish!
I went down to florida with some friends for vacation and of course did some fishing while I was down there. Our main target was Snook, however they were in a little bit of a transition period from the backwater to the surf. We were able to hook in to some redfish that were a blast!

Shags Run Visit and Dove field Report
Louis and I took advantage of our day off and headed down to Shags Run to visit with Billy Gerwin, check out the new puppies, and take a look at the dove fields. Shags Run has been our gracious host for September dove shoots and upland hunts the last few years.
The dove fields looked great with tons of sunflowers and buckwheat planted. Billy has planted more fields with more food this then year any previous years. He will be starting to cut hay soon which he says always brings birds in. Even just hanging around the barnyard, I noticed birds working the fields and hanging around the farm.
Of course we really went to see the puppies. They are approximately 6 weeks old. Click "read more" to see all the pictures.

First Pike on the fly
I just got back from our annual family trip to Michigan's' Les Chenaux Islands. 2014 marks 100 years of my mom's family visiting this area. The traditions, family, and friends, really make this place special. As my mom said one day the "scenes stay the same, the players just change".
Our house is located on the far western edge of the islands chain, in Mismer Bay. We have a mainland house, but many of the folks in the area spend their summers on one of the many islands. I love the opportunity to dig out my Nano Puff and soft shell since the weather is always a bit cooler. (On this trip I lived in my Patagonia Guidewater pants. They are so comfortable and they did a great job keeping the bugs off)
As you can imagine, fishing and boating are a huge part of the local culture. Perch, Pike, and Smallmouth bass are some of the most popular species to chase but folks also fish for Salmon, Lake trout, Musky, Rockbass, and a few other species.

Sperry Sounder water shoe
We have carried this shoe for two seasons and it is fast becoming a customer favorite. I got a pair to wear on a trip to the Bahamas and they have now become some of my favorite bumming around shoes. They are so comfortable I wore them whenevr I did not have my flats boots on. They became my camp shoe and my travel shoe.
Good for washing the car and slipping on after a day on the stream.
I have had customers tell me that they took them on a whitewater rafting/camping week and turns out they wore them the entire week as their everything shoe. "No need to bring any other footwear."
