Steelhead Alley Fishing Report 11/15-11/17

So this weekend Nick, Louis, and I (Alex) got up to do some steelhead fishing.  We had been trying to schedule a trip for a while and the stars finally aligned and our schedules matched.  Nick and Louis both hooked into their first steelhead.  It was a pretty cool sight and I think it's safe to say that they are now addicted too.

Mad River Fishing Report 3/21/14

After having my plans of heading up to Cleveland getting cancelled for steelhead, due to weather and river conditions, I decided to head up to the Mad to do some trout fishing. Water was a little bit low and clear (gauge registered 129 cfs and dropping) but still good, but the weather was perfect! The high for the day came in around 63 degrees. The only thing that could have made the day any better was to catch some fish, and that we did. Between my dad and I, we picked up four fish and lost what felt like a decent one when it ran into a log jam and broke off.

Bass, Trout, and Frogs...Fifth Third Bank Event at Briarwood.

We try not to take ourselves too seriously.

I just got back from Briarwood Sporting Club for the 2nd time this week.  I know, hard life.  Actually, this outing was to assist our head instructor, Brian Barnard, with a Fifth Third Bank corporate event.  Fifth Third invited representatives and some of their best clients to spend the day exploring Briarwood and learning to fly fish.  We had a great few days and caught a ton of fish.  Michael was the Fifth Third employee responsible for organizing the event.  It was a great event.  Keep reading for pictures and more about the event.

A great weekend at Briarwood

I just got back from a weekend at Briarwood Sporting Club. I had five guests with me, all of whom I have either guided or instructed in the past. It was a great group. We had many laughs, caught a ton of fish, and in general just had a great time.

Lake Erie Steelhead

This past weekend, my dad an I headed up to Cleveland in pursuit of 'chrome'. The water conditions were not the best though. All of the Lake Erie tributaries were very low and clear. Since big rains bring fish in, most of the fish in the rivers at this time were fairly old and sluggish due to low water temperatures. Despite the conditions, we were successful.
